THE FORMATION OF EMOTIONS AND BEHAVIORS


 

EMOTIONAL FORMATION


  • Emotion is the main movement to illustrate the behavior of children.
  • Emotionally born can display all the forms that are felt and thought out.
  • The prevailing atmosphere around will induce the formation of emotions in a situation.


BEHAVIORAL FORMATION


  • Closely related to emotions.
  • Behavior exists after being influenced by emotions.
  • Behavioral formation is a technique that can be used regularly to children, especially those who need special needs.
  • Example: to increase the focus of the child for any activity. When the child can concentrate on an average assignment of only 3 minutes, the time pf consolidation should be continuously upgraded ( from 3 to 5 ).


EMOTIONS THAT LEAD TO AGGRESSIVE BEHAVIOR


  • Mohd Mansur & Siti Nordinar (1988) - anger is the emotion that leads to aggressive behavior caused by something that causes anger.


3 stages of development and behavior resulting from angry emotions


1. Early childhood

Anger reactions are somewhat limited due to their developing body.

2. Children

They attacked anyone who tried to scold them.

3. Adolescent

They will leave the place or reply with a more rude words to the person who scold at them.

EMOTIONS THAT LEAD TO MARTIAL BEHAVIOR


  • Fear is an emerging emotional state that develops in parallel with one’s age.
  • Dollard (1944) - if an individual can handle it, emotionally fears will become a habit for him and no longer emotionally afraid.
  • Emotionally fears should be in the individual to control and prevent doing any harm for themself and others.


3 TYPES OF CHILD’S ABILITY


According to Lefrancois (2001)

1. Emotional Assessments

Infants entering the age of 2 show some behaviors indicating they can understand the feelings of other, knowing that their behavior can affect the feelings of the people around them.

For 3-year-olds, do not have much problem in interpreting the emotions of the characters in the pictorial story seen or heard to them.

They just interpret someone’s emotions based on what they see and hear.

2. Emotional Arrangement

The ability to control the emotions of children can be seen since they were babies.
 example : children close their eyes, hug their mother if they feel scared.

3. Emotional Exposure

2 rule for displaying emotions.

i) Pro - social rules apply

Resulting in the behavior used to engage in relationship with others.

ii) Self - regulatory rule

The intent of the perpetrator to not receive undesirable impression of a situation or event.
